In 2000, the Foundation celebrated Heritage Week in London, Ontario where we launched the Young Heritage Leaders program – a program to recognize Ontario's young people in preserving and promoting heritage in their communities.

The Foundation celebrated with nearly 120 people on February 23 at the Covent Garden Market in downtown London, a new farmers' market and retail complex. Approximately 15 community heritage organizations had special exhibits at this event – as well as displays by public school students.

Special guests included: The Honourable Helen Johns, Ontario's Minister of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation; Dianne Haskett, Mayor of London; and Janet Belanger, Manager of Community Relations for London Life.
