Sergeant Aubrey Cosens, V.C. 1921-1945

Raised near Porquis Junction, Cosens worked briefly for the railway before enlisting in 1940. The bravery and personal courage he displayed during the fierce fighting in Holland in 1945 earned him, posthumously, the Victoria Cross.
