Restoration of the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre was the largest project of its kind in Canada. At this National Historic Site, you can bask in the gilded elegance of the Elgin Theatre, and then go upstairs to gaze in awe at the leafy ceiling of the Winter Garden Theatre – seven storeys above the Elgin. Tours of the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre reveal artifacts from its vaudeville days, such as a silent-film projector, spectacular vaudeville scenery and a restored vaudeville-era dressing room. The Centre is the last operating double-decker theatre in the world.
