Friday, August 24, 2007, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Travel back in time to the early 1800s at Homewood Museum's Pioneer Kids day camp and discover what a child's daily life was like. Children aged 5 to 9 will learn about some of the important skills that every boy and girl needed to know on the farm – such as cooking, sewing and making things with their own hands. Make your own butter and enjoy it on fresh bread with your picnic lunch. The rest of the day will be filled with activities such as sewing a bean bag and other crafts, and using a quill pen to fill in your family tree. At the end of the day, make a yarn doll or a Jacob's ladder to take home.
Children must be accompanied by a parent. Registration for this day camp is $10 per child. Register early as space is limited. Remember to bring your picnic lunch!
