EVENT - Enjoy a metal artifacts identification workshop with Janet Carlile at Fulford Place | ||
Saturday, October 20, 2007 – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.If you're not sure if your candlesticks are made of wrought iron, cast iron or tarnished brass, then this is the course for you. This workshop explores, identifies and dates metals in common household use from c. 1750 to 1950. Copper, pewter, brass, chromium, bronze, cast iron and wrought iron will all be discussed with samples for you to examine. Bring one object with you for discussion – and discover why some brass is pink! The workshop instructor, Janet Carlile, trained at Sotheby's in The cost of the workshop is $65 per person. Pre-registration is required (call early to reserve). Bring a bagged lunch or make a lunch reservation at the Fulford Place Tearoom. For more information about Tours:Fulford Place is open for tours Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 1 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the last tour leaving at 3:10 p.m. Groups are welcome by appointment any time.
