Join this popular one-day workshop, hosted by the Homewood Museum, and discover the art of making rugs. Rug-maker Francine Slippert will lead the workshop.

Slippert will demonstrate this craft – popular throughout the 1800s – and then allow you the opportunity to make your own rug. Each participant must bring three different colours of fabric (preferably the same weight), a pair of scissors, a needle and thread, a large blunt needle and a pair of panty hose to sew the rug together. A limited supply of fabrics will also be available for sale.

All skill levels welcome. Tickets are $25 per person. Spaces are limited, so please register early at 613-348-1246. Participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the historical grounds.

The property is open from June 14 to September 1, Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Museum tours are available throughout the day.

Admission is $3 for Adults, $1.50 for Students (under 16), $2 per person for Groups (over 15 visitors) and $6 for a Passport – combined admission to Fulford Place in Brockville.
