EVENT Make a rug this summer at Homewood Museum | ||
Sunday, August 24, 2008 11a.m. to 2 p.m.Join this popular one-day workshop, hosted by the Slippert will demonstrate this craft popular throughout the 1800s and then allow you the opportunity to make your own rug. Each participant must bring three different colours of fabric (preferably the same weight), a pair of scissors, a needle and thread, a large blunt needle and a pair of panty hose to sew the rug together. A limited supply of fabrics will also be available for sale. All skill levels welcome. Tickets are $25 per person. Spaces are limited, so please register early at 613-348-1246. Participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the historical grounds.
